Lectura breve: El Café Portento Parte III

Mi nombre es Esperanza. En Costa Rica, yo me levanto temprano y salgo de mi hotel. Me subo a1 un taxi y voy al Café Portento. Al mismo tiempo, otra mujer sale de un hotel diferente y también va al Café Portento.

Entro al café y me siento a una mesa. Miro a mi alrededor2 y veo a una mujer pasar por la puerta. No puedo creerlo. Ella es tan alta y tan bonita como yo. Es como mirarme en un espejo3.

Hablamos por unos minutos y descubrimos que somos hermanas. Pensamos que somos mellizas4 porque nos parecemos mucho.

Entonces entra un hombre al café. Es tan alto como nosotras. Se acerca a la mesa y nos habla. Se llama Lázaro. Él nos dio la carta de antes y tiene información sobre nuestra familia.

Al final, Lázaro nos dice la verdad. No somos mellizas. Los tres somos trillizos5.

Al día siguiente, Esperanza se levanta temprano y sale apresurada de su hotel. Se sube a1 un taxi y sale rumbo2 al Café Portento. A la vez3, Milagro se alista4 rápido y sale apresurada de un hotel diferente. Se sube a otro taxi y también sale rumbo al Café Portento.

Esperanza entra al café y se sienta a una mesa. Mira a su alrededor5 cuando ve a una mujer pasar por la puerta. No puede creer6 sus propios ojos7. La mujer es tan alta como Esperanza. También es tan bonita como ella. ¡Es como mirarse en el espejo8!

—Disculpe9, señorita —dice Esperanza—, pero esto es muy raro. Usted y yo…

—Nos parecemos10 —dice la mujer, terminando la frase11 de Esperanza.

—¿Cómo se llama usted? —le pregunta Esperanza.

—Me llamo Milagro —dice la mujer.

Esperanza y Milagro hablan por unos minutos. Entonces descubren12 que son hermanas mellizas13 perdidas desde hace años14.

En este momento, un hombre entra al café. Es tan alto como Esperanza y Milagro. También es tan guapo como ellas. Se acerca a la mesa y les dice:

—Esperanza y Milagro…
